MAHBUBNAGAR: Unable to bear the expenses of bringing up the child, a man tried to sell off his four-month-old baby girl in Mahbubnagar on Monday.
Mallesh, a native of Lattupally village in Bijinepally mandal tried to sell off his four-month-old baby girl as his wife Bhoolaxmi deserted him leaving behind their two girl children. The elder child is 4-years-old.
Unable to take care of the children, Mallesh decided to sell off his younger daughter. He took the baby to the DEO office and started soliciting people to adopt the child. However, local people noticed the incident and alerted ICDS officials.
Officials intervened and foiled his attempt. They convinced Mallesh and shifted the two children to a rescue home.
