Hyderabad: A seven member interstate gang, allegedly involved in two dacoity cases, was busted by the city police here on Thursday. A country made pistol, one live bullet, gems worth Rs.20 lakh and Rs.45,000 cash were seized from their possession.
They were involved in the dacoity cases reported in the city on March 23,
According to the news published in Telangana Today V Satyanarayana, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) disclosed the names of the arrested gang members as, Dheeraj Singh alias Akram Bhai (40), a native of Madhya Pradesh, Mohammed Saleem (32), of Mumbai, Ashwadh Shaik alias Abbu (30) of Mumbai, Mohammed Azmath Nazeer (29) of Uttar Pradesh, Mohammed Omer alias Omer (26) of Uttar Pradesh, Mohammed Waqar Rai alias Waqar (27) of Bihar and Shaik Saddam alias Saddam (22) of West Bengal, have been arrested, said
The gang members reportedly attacked and robbed a Jaipur-based gems trader by diverting his attention in the lanes of Urdu Galli area. The same day, the gang robbed a trader at Siddiamber Bazaar market in Afzalgunj, of Rs.1.37 lakh.
Assisted by the Commissioner’s Task Force (South) sleuths, the city police, within four days, tracked down and nabbed all the gang members. Their hideout was a rented house in Hassan Nagar under the Bahadurpura police station limits.
