Hyderabad, January 27: Following the blockbuster hit of “Dabangg”, the producer of the film Arbaaz Khan is all set to enthrall the Telugu audience by making the remake of “Dabangg” in Tamil but with a different title and an entirely new cast and crew.
Talking with respect to his selling off the Telugu remake rights, Arbaaz stated “There is no truth to that article. The reporter didn’t even talk to me before writing that stuff. I have sold the rights of only the Telugu remakes.”
He added “The Telugu remake is not called Dabangg but is titled Gabbar Singh. I was surprised about the title as it instantly reminded me of Gabbar Singh in Sholay. And in Dabangg we weren’t talking about a villain but a cop.”
I enquired about the same and got to know that Gabbar Singh is actually a very popular and loved cop in Hyderabad and so the film is titled as such.”
An elated Arbaaz signed off stating “It is usually the other way around. We remake South films in Hindi regularly, whereas very few Hindi films get made in South Indian languages.”
He said further, “I am proud that Dabangg is one of such few films.”
