Members of legislative council of Telangana Congress unanimously appointed D Srinivas as floor leader and Mohammed Ali Shabbir as deputy floor leader. It must be noted that Congress high command had send Dig Vijay Singh and Vayalar Ravi to Hyderabad for appointment of floor leader of council. While D Srinivas and Mohammed Ali Shabbir were the contenders for floor leader of council. 40-member council has 17 MLCs of Congress and most of the members were demanding appointment of floor leader through lottery however Dig Vijay Singh and Vylar Ravi spoke to all the members separately and after mutual consultation appointed D Srinivas as floor leader and Mohammed Ali Shabbir as deputy floor leader.
