Chennai: Heavy rainfalls and winds battered Kanyakumari and have killed four people on Thursday. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rainfall in the town and several other places in Tamil Nadu.
A top official of Earth Science Ministry on Thursday said that the cyclone is now likely to hit Lakshadweep archipelago on December 2, Hindustan Times reported.

“Rainfall will occur at most places, heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Lakshadweep area during next 48 hours,” the IMD said.
Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Agency also said that the cyclonic storm likely to get intensified during next 12 hours.
Meanwhile, the state government has asked Kerala Disaster Management Agency and civic authorities to keep a high alert.
