Mumbai, November 11: Predicting that tropical cyclone may skip Mumbai, the met department said heavy rains might hit the city today. “The cyclone phyan is heading towards Gujarat,” added the officials.
Keeping in view the prediction of Met department, Chief Secretary of Maharashtra has advised people to stay home after 5 pm.
The Chief Secretary said that the cyclone phyan might cross Valasad between 11 pm to 12 am.
Taking preventive measures, all school, colleges and office have been closed.
Meanwhile, BMC has asked people of low lying areas to move to safer places.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture out into the sea following the prediction of heavy rains and cyclone.
