The Cyberabad police attained the top rank in the country in utilizing the National Mega Lok Adalat conducted simultaneously by the Supreme Court of India all over the country on December 6.
A total of 4,969 cases were settled in the courts by appearance of both the parties to amicably settle their disputes and reach a compromise. Of 4,969 cases, 1,250 were UI cases and 3719 were PT cases which have been compounded and removed from the pendency list of Cyberabad police records and also from the records of the concerned courts.
In the previous Lok Adalat only 257 willing parties settled their cases. This time all the SHOs, ACsP, DCsP took active part and brought great awareness about Lok Adalat and the proposed good will to be created in the colonies & villages. The efforts of SHOs, Court HC/PCs coupled with the guidance of court and cooperation of Police friendly and well meaning people led to these results.
At the end of the day both the parties left with smiling on their faces. The National Lok Adalat removed the ill feelings and parties left the court with the assurance of amicable living. The co-ordination between police and judiciary made the National Lok Adalat a grand success and the same practice will be continued in future.
Cyberabad Commissioner CV Anand appreciated the good work done by SHOs, ACsP, DCsP and rewarded best performers. (INN)
