The Executive Committee of the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) under the Chairmanship of Cyberabad Commissioner CV Anand met on Sunday today and reviewed the activities of its four Sub-Committees and other issues.
The Membership Sub-Committee reported that the SCSC membership has now increased to 195 companies out of which 150 have already contributed their annual share of Re 1@ Sq. feet of Built up Area to the Society. The Traffic Sub Committee reported that 80 IT employees volunteered to work as “Traffic Volunteers” and are regularly turning up to discharge traffic duties in the IT Corridor. The Security Sub-Committee reported that they have conducted three mock Fire – evacuation drills in Companies, spoken to many companies about the need to install CCTVs etc.
The Women’s Safety Sub Committee or Women’s Forum of the SCSC has become most active. Led by Mamata, HR in charge of INVESCO and her team, including Malati of Q-City, Vani Arket of Infosys and Aruna Joshi of Hyciya, they have already held number of awareness sessions in the IT Corridor. A total of 5000 women and 2000 male employees have attended these awareness sessions. DCPs of Madhapur and Traffic and other police officers are also associating themselves with these sessions.
The main focus is on explaining the precautions to be taken while hiring Cabs / Taxis, using Public transport, showing the films on women safety and explaining to the male employees the slogan that “when you see a woman, it is not an opportunity, it is a responsibility”.
The Cyberabad Commissioner participated in one such event at Phoenix Avance SEZ and addressed a gathering of over 1000 employees. He explained to them the steps taken by Government to increase and improve safety of women in Cyberabad and Hyderabad and requested them to be aware and alert in public places. Mamta, Vice Chairperson of the women’s Forum, spoke about the need for more inputs in induction training of companies. A Question – Answer session followed where several queries were answered. DCPs of Malkajgiri and Madhapur also attended the interactive session. (INN)
