In the drive towards people-friendly policing and involving community to bring a ‘Safe & Smart City’, the Cyberabad Police started recognizing efforts of Good Samaritan public and citizens in helping policing, catch criminals, maintain peace and order, or give vital information. Every quarterly, such ‘Good Citizens’ are identified and awarded a ‘Good Citizen Certificate’ and a cash reward of Rs 1,000 by the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad.
This time, 15 citizens, who helped Cyberabad Police in various ways, were identified for the award. They are: Harbhan Singh S/o Jaimal Singh, 58 yrs and MD Moula S/o Ismail, 52 yrs. They are well meaning, respectable people in their communities. Their valuable information, advice and intervention prevented further escalation of communal trouble in Sikh Chawani area (Arsha Mahal) in the year 2014.
Shiva Kumar S/o Satyanarayana, 9th Class and J. Babu Yadav S/o Shankaraiah. They valiantly chased an armed HB night offenders and caught notorious offender at Katedan area. Gayatri Prasad S/o G.S.N.Murthy, 39 yrs. Apprehended the robbery offender in Cr.No.592/2013 U/s 394 IPC of PS Vanasthalipuram PS on July 31, 2013 and handed over to police.

E.Shiva Kumar S/o Lachummanna, Age 22 yrs and Devella Gopi S/o Srinivas, Age 22 yrs :-They are both the students chased and caught the murder case accused Rukma Rao in Cr.No.67/2014 U/s 302 IPC and handed over the accused to police.
Mongillipalli Srinivas S/o Sommaiah, Age 34 yrs :- Since 1992 he has been shifting dead bodies’ unknown persons to Gandhi Hospital. But for his many orphans who are rescue and sent for rescue homes.
Bandi Laxman, Age 40 yrs and Sri. Bandi Sammaiah, Age 50 yrs :- They are on 20.3.2015 at about 1500 hrs accused J.Srinivas entered into the house of M.Rajeshwari, age 80 yrs, R/o New Sai Maruthi Nagar, inflected multiple stab injuries and ran away with booty. Both the Good citizen chased the armed offender, caught him and handed over to police.
G.Sampath Goud S/o Om Prakash, Age 27 yrs :- Apprehended the accused Manthipuram Ramulu S/o Shyam Rao in Ramanthapur area and helped in detection of in 3 property cases W/Rs. 1,30,000/-
Donthi Satyanarayana Goud S/o Balaiah Goud, Age 40 yrs: The Citizen voluntarily bringing awareness for crime prevention by using PA system and big banners and flexes fixed on a Tata Ace in Chandanagar area. Because of his efforts snatching and other property offences have drastically come down for the last 2 years.
Kummari Kiran S/o Swamy, Age 25 yrs: He caught red handed the snatcher by the name of Koppula Krishna Prasad and handed over to pet Basheerabad Police.
M.Ravi S/o Srirath: Auto driver handed over bag of passenger who boorded auto at Balanagar & sot dawal at Bahadurpally by forgetting his bag in auto which contained 2.74 lakhs & one Laptop.
Sai Santhosh S/o Murthy, Age 17 yrs and S.Nikhil S/o Samba Shiva Rao, Age 18 yrs : Good work in apprehension of chain snatcher. (NSS)
