Stating that some confidence tricksters were befriending women through face book claiming themselves as employees of MNCs and exchanging mails with marriage proposals, Cyberabad crime police have cautioned the women to be careful about such cheats and not to fall a prey to them. The police appealed to job aspirants to be careful about bogus advertisements and interviews.
S. Jayaram, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crimes, Cyberabad, has stated that after some days, they are luring women victim stating that they sent a gift parcel containing gift article and US dollars through courier service worth several lakhs for using them in India after their marriage. Later, the fraudsters posing as Customs/courier services men were asking the victims to deposit handsome amounts in the name of Customs clearance, anti-terrorist fund, RBI fee, foreign exchange amount and so on. In this fashion, the cheats were extracting huge amounts from the innocent people.
The ACP further stated some of the fraudsters giving jobs advertisement in the website “Click in” for various posts in IT field displaying emails and phone numbers containing the original keywords of MNC for recruiting the IT job aspirants and creating confidence that the advertisement is genuine. They are also conducting online interviews posing as Manager HR of respective organizations, squeezing huge amounts from job aspirants by issuing fake job offer letters and cheating the jobless. Besides, some third parties were posting advertisements in websites saying they are authorized to act on behalf of MNC to recruit people and collecting huge amounts by offering jobs. (NSS)
