Cyber Bullying can lead to several psychological conditions among victims

Cyber-bullying can lead to emotional scarring amongst the victims, as examined by the doctors.

Doctors have warned that cyber-bullying leads to self-harm, emotional issues and low self esteem issues which can further lead to anxiety, stress, depression and other serious psychological conditions later in the victim’s life, the Daily Express reported.

Dr Natasha Bijlani of the Priory Hospital, London, said that youngsters do not often report this kind of abuse and that it leads to psychological conditions later on.

The Priory group has reported that abuse on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter has become so common that in 2014, the number of youngsters between the age of 12-17 being treated for depression, anxiety and stress went up from 178 in 2010 to 262 in 2014. The number of adults has gone up by around 25 percent to more than 1600.

The current generation is the first to have grown up with this kind if unprecedented presence on social media. (ANI)
