Hyderabad: As a result of cyber-attack globally, all ATMs in Hyderabad and Secunderabad have been shut down. Earlier, due to non-availability of currency, ATMs were not functioning in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Despite many complaints by the public, no bank took any serious step to resolve the issue. On the other hand, they maintained silence and overlooked the problem. As a result of which, people are refraining from depositing amounts in banks.
According to the information available on social media, especially on Facebook and WhatsApp, panic prevails among the public. People are refraining from using ATM Cards for online transactions also.
It is reported that ATMs would remain closed for another 2 to 3 days since every bank wants to concentrate providing safe platform for its customers in view of the international cyberattacks. Indian computers have badly been affected but most of the computers belong to private organizations. After the cyber-attack news became viral on social media, people became panicky. It is understood that besides Hyderabad and Secunderabad, ATM services in districts would also be suspended.
