Gold Coast [Australia]: Indians continued to bring glory to the country as Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran clinched bronze in the table tennis mixed doubles match here on Sunday.
In the final day of the 21st Commonwealth Games, the duo defeated Sharath Kamal and Mouma Das 11-6 11-2 11-4 in the bronze play-off, thus bringing Manika her fourth medal in the Games.
On Saturday, the 22-year-old defeated Singapore’s Meingyu Yu 11-7, 11-6, 11-2, 11-7 in the women’s singles final to clinch Gold for India.
She also went on to win silver alongside Mouma Das in the women’s doubles on Friday.
Meanwhile, Sharath ended his run at the Games with a 4-1 victory over England’s Samuel Walker in the men’s singles bronze medal match here on Sunday.
India stands third in the point’s table with 26 gold, 19 silver and 20 bronze medals at the Games. (ANI)
