Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Roads and Building Minister Tummala Nageshwara Roa today directed officials concerned to prepare a plan of action to conduct Haritha Haram program in 15 days.
During a high level review meeting with the officials the ministers asked the officials to plunge into action from Wednesday to remove Babul trees and bushes on the national highways. works have to be taken up on a total stretch of 25000 km roads of Roads and Buildings department and 67,500 km roads of Roads and Buildings department along BT roads and highways. Bushes and Babul trees causing inconvenience on the roads should be removed on a war-footing. Make use of workers of employment guarantee scheme for the purpose.
The ministers also instructed to hire some JCB vehicles to speed up the works and update details online by videographing them. Haritha Haram drive will be taken up for expanding greenery and saplings have to be planted and protected with utmost care he said. (NSS)
