Govt. of A.P. very soon formulates new excise policy as the present excise policy is full of mistakes. The new excise policy will be implemented from June. Lapses will be removed from the excise policy and an attempt will be made to rectify all the drawbacks. Minister of Excise, Mr. Venaktaramana told the newsmen yesterday that the wine merchants are not following M.R.P. rates scrupulously. Govt. will impose stern measures in liquour trade. Any businessman violating the regulations will be punished severely. He reacted harshly or some newspapers who are leveling baseless charges against him. He categorically denied his involvement in liquour scam.
He said that his son is not in liquour business and denied all the rumours spread against him.
