Hyderabad, April 04:The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Mr A K Khan, on Sunday announced the relaxation of curfew from 8 am to 5 pm from Monday in the curfew-bound areas in the city.
The city police chief made this announcement as there was tremendous improvement in the situation and in order to provide relief to the curfew-hit people.
All fair price shops, private shops which sell essential commodities and medical halls would remain open during the curfew relaxation period. The Civil Supplies Department, the CEO, Rythu Bazaar and MD of Dairy Development Corporation will be making all arrangements for the supply of essential commodities, vegetables and milk respectively. If the situation continues to improve further, there would be more hours of relaxation in curfew in the coming days.
It was decided to allow only adults, women and the people above 50 years to buy the essential commodities.
He also cautioned the citizens about rumors making rounds in the form of SMSes in the city which are creating panic among the citizens. He requested the citizens not to believe such baseless rumors and also not to spread such baseless SMSes.
It may be mentioned here that indefinite curfew has been imposed in the limits of 25 police stations in Hyderabad City following the incidents of communal violence since March 27. (NSS)
