District authorities today lifted curfew from four police stations in the city and has given relaxation of two hours each on other places in a phased manner. The curfew was clamped in entire Bareilly city on Sunday night following a clash between the Kanwariyas and people of the other community over playing of DJ. In the communal clash, two people were killed while more than 40 people including 5 policemen were injured. official sources here said while curfew was withdrawn from Cantonment,Bithrichainur, Cibiganj and Ijjatnagar police station areas. In other areas, curfew would be relaxed between 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs for two hours each in a phase manner. Situation in Aonla was returning back to normal and now the authorities have relaxed the curfew for two hours from 1000 hrs. Curfew was relaxed for two hours from 1000 hrs to 1200 hrs in Quila, Subhashnagar and Kotwali police station areas while in Baradari and Premnagar police station areas, the relaxation would be between 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs. Police have arrested 225 people in connection with the clashes. Schools and colleges are closed since Monday while the curfew has affected road traffic enroute Bareilly. UNI
