Curfew imposed in Bokaro following attack on procession

Bokaro: A curfew was imposed today in areas under four police stations in Bokaro city after 19 persons, including a magistrate and four policemen, were injured when stones were hurled on a procession.

Deputy Commissioner R M Patre said curfew was imposed in police station areas of Balidih, Maraphari, Sector-12 and Bokaro Steel City following the attack on Ram Navami procession near Shivandih in the steel city.

The police had to use batons and tear gas shells to bring the situation under control, he said.

The incident happened when unidentified persons hurled stones on the procession taken out on the occasion of Ram Navami.
