Cultural fests help revive dying art forms

Adilabad, February 14: Information and Public Relations Commissioner C Parthasarathi, who was the chief guest at the district literary and cultural festival held at Mancherial on Sunday, said such programmes would revive the folk arts and other traditional cultural art forms at a stage when they were struggling to survive.

Parthasarathi recalled his experience of working as the DRDA project director of the district and said the backward district of Adilabad had achieved good development during the past few years. He praised the organisers for holding the two-day function on a grand scale.

Traditional arts and dance forms like `Gond’ were performed during the function. More than 1,200 poets, artistes and others took part in the function. Film actor Rajendra Prasad was among the guests.
