Cultural extravaganza at nine selected places near pushkar ghats is all set to enthrall devotees thronging celebrations at Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts. Tourism and Culture Minister A Chandulal today unveiled the schedule of 12-days celebrations of the cultural programs at Secretariat here along with OSD to Government and poet Deshapathi Srinivas. He said that the government is spending Rs 1 crore for the cultural show to be presented by 12000 artistes at nine stages including Beechupally, Rangapur, Somasila, Krishna Bridge, Pasupula ghat and Alampur in Mahabubnagar district and Vadapally, Mattapally and Nagarjuna Sagar in Nalgonda district.
As part of the pushkaralu the artistes will perform cultural show reflecting the tradition in terms of a wide variety of art forms. They are mangal dwhani, veda parayanam, vishun, lalitha, shiva strotra parayanam, devotional and classical music, folk dance, ballets, burrakatha, Harikatha, padya and pauranika natakalu and others he said. The Krishna Pushkaralu will be commencing Friday morning on grand note. The holy festivities fall once in 12 years and being celebrated for first time in Telangana from August 12 to 23. Cultural programs also being conducted to reflect Telangana culture, tradition and give a devotional touch to the extravaganza. (NSS)
