Johannesburg: Cricket South Africa (CSA) heaped praise on the national side after they won the inaugural T20 International series against India at Cuttack on Monday with a game to spare.
South Africa secured a six-wicket win over the hosts in the second match to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. They won the first match on Friday at Dharamshala by seven wickets.
Congratulating the team, CSA Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat said that they had an excellent start to their first Mahatma Gandhi-Nelson Mandela icon tour, adding that the T20 series win positions them well for the upcoming ODI and Test matches, Sport24 reported.
Lorgat said that the team played brilliantly in the two opening T20 matches and that would give them plenty of confidence.
The third and final match will be played in Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens on Thursday. Both sides will also face against each other in five ODIs and the following four-match Test series. (ANI)
