CS reviews lorries strike

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SP Singh today directed district Collectors to ensure that public are kept away from inconvenience due to ongoing lorries strike. Holding a video conference from Secretariat here the chief secretary reviewed on the effect of lorries strike, drinking water measures and heat wave conditions during summer, Mission Bhagiratha. He asked the officials to coordinate and press in police services to shift essential commodities from civil supplies godowns, vegetables and see that petrol and diesel stocks are made available and not be disrupted to the lorries strike. Collectors should send regular reports to the government and implement time bound plans to overcome the problem he said. The CS also asked to see that the old aged persons, children are away from the scorching heat and workers are not allowed to work at noon hours. The collectors also press in need based water tanks to overcome the drinking water problem a release said. (NSS)
