Telangana Capital will be the host for a three-day international dance festival from next Jan 13 to15 and the state government is gearing up for the grand gala of events.
At a high-level review meeting, Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma directed the officials to make fool-proof arrangements for the global level dance festival. As many as 120 noted artistes representing 12 countries will be attending the festivities known as Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) at Shilpa Kala Vedika here, he informed. In coordination with the State government, Prasar Bharathi is conducting the international dance festival for three days, he said.
Grand finale of the event will be on June 15 next year and the arrangements should be made in a proper way to ensure that the artistes get better facilities, Rajiv Sharma said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and some representatives from the Centre will be attending the festivities on the final day. The Chief Secretary asked the artistes of national recognition to send their entries to prasarbharati.org to participate.
Rajiv Sharma directed the information wing to make better publicity for the international event a release said. Government Advisor Papa Rao, Prasar Bharathi member personal Suresh Chanda Panda, Tourism and Culture Secretary B Venkatesam, Information Commissioner Navin Mittal, Prasar Bharathi ADG Naidu, Culture wing Director M Harikrishna were present.
