Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SP Singh today conducted a meeting on the proposal of canceling zonal system at Secretariat here. Singh is to conduct another meeting with all the associations of the employees on Thursday and will take a final call on the cancellation of the zonal system.
Attending the meeting Employees Association leaders Ravinder Reddy, Mamatha and other officials urged the chief secretary to finalise the draft policy on the zonal system only after taking opinion of the employees. They asked the government to fill up most of the posts at districts to cater to the needs of people.
They also urged that the government take steps to ensure that superintendent level posts remain at district level. State level posts should be given in 80 and 20 per cent ration and Telangana employees be given top priority they said. Singh felt that zonal system cancellation will not cause any inconvenience to the employees. (NSS)
