Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General K. Durga Prasad yesterday reviewed security situation in Jammu region with senior officers of the para-military force.
He also visited International Border (IB) in RS Pura sector. Prasad had high-level review of situation prevailing in Jammu region with senior officers of CRPF at the headquarters.
Though there had been no major impact of Kashmir unrest in Jammu region, small protests took place earlier in some parts in which CRPF along with local police had played major role.
Senior officers of the CRPF in Jammu briefed Prasad on the prevailing situation in the hinterland as well as borders and the CRPF role to deal with protests in certain areas of Jammu region.
The CRPF officers also gave detailed briefing to the DG on steps taken to maintain security at holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. (ANI)
