Critical Political situation in the State-Brothers of a political party require lands worth Rs.100 crore

The eyes of a political party of the city are set on the valuable lands situated at prime locations. This political party and its leaders are busy in making attempts to acquire Govt. lands for various purposes which includes the valuable land of Mahavir Hospital situated at the busy area of Masab Tank. This property is valued at Rs.100 crore as per the market rates. The Govt. of A.P gave this land admeasuring nearly three acres on lease for 30 years tio Mahavir Hospital Trust.

Its nominal rent was fixed at Rs.12/- per annum. Its lease expired in 2007. The management of the hospital is trying to get the period of lease extended but no decision has been taken so far.

This political party submitted four letters to Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, C.M. of A.P. during the period from July 2012 to September 2012. Requests have been made in these four letters for allotting 3 to 5 acres of Govt. lands for various purposes. C.M. has instructed the officials to review these requests and to apprise him of the details.

On 26th July 2012 a request was made for allotting five acres of Govt. land. It was claimed that four primary schools are functioning in the old city of Hyderabad, under an educational trust founded by this party in which 1500 students are said to be studying. It also claimed that another school is functioning in Amberpet. In the representation made, it was claimed that education is given free in these schools. School bags, uniforms, textbooks and notebooks are also provided free to the students.

This trust was formed in 2008. A request has been made to allot five acres of Govt. land.

After a week, another letter was given to C.M. on 23rd August 2012. This letter also carries the signature of the leader of legislative party. This letter says that since the lease period of Mahavir Trust expired, hence the land given to it should be allotted to this trust. The letter also says that Govt. has already allotted lands in Ranga Reddy District to Mahavir Trust for establishing a Medical College, a Teaching Hospital and other facilities and there is a proposal to close down Mahavir Hospital located in A.C. Guards area.

A reference has also been made in the said letter that the Collector of Hyderabad District has instructed the Revenue Staff to acquire this land through the Commissioner of Cand Acquisition.

In a letter addressed to C.M., it has been mentioned that another trust was started in 1974, which runs Medical College, Engineering College and Hospital. It has a plan to extend its activities. It wants to introduce new courses and new professional colleges. In such a case, this trust needs more lands. A request has been made to the C.M. to allot five acres of land at some important place in the city.

The floor leader of the party in A.P. Assembly gave another letter to C.M. on 7th September 2012 in which he stated that in the hospital of the Medical College, free treatment is given to the poor people.

This college is offering various courses. The educational trust needs more lands to start new branches of medical education. It needs five acres of Govt. land.

In addition to these letters, another letter was given to C.M. of A.P. on 18th August in which a demand was made to allot two or three acres of land at a central place in Hyderabad for the newspaper the party publishes.

The Chief Editor of the Newspaper signed the letter. The letter says that the office of this newspaper has been established in the premises of political party. It is facing a lot inconvenience at that place. Claiming the wider circulation of this newspaper, it said that the present accommodation is insufficient for this newspaper and hence a plot of land admeasuring two or three acres may be provided for this purpose.

The interesting thing is that this party, which claims it to be “The Messiah” and sympathizer of the Muslims, the needs it has mentioned are all commercial in nature. Everyone knows that only one family derives benefits out of it. Now Govt. lands have also been demanded for utilizing them for the benefits of their family. These representations are not for the Muslims or for the nation. These lands have not been sought for establishing an institution for the Muslim Community.

The institutions for which Govt. lands have been demanded have three brothers of the same family as their presidents. On of them is a Member of Parliament and he is the Chairman of an Educational Trust. Another trust has been set up under the chairmanship of another brother. The third brother is the Chief Editor of a newspaper.

Observers say that the political situation in the State is very critical. No one can predict that which way the camel is going to lie down.

Congress leaderships have already started negotiation on Telangana issue. Whether Telangana State would be formed or not but the political situation doesn’t seem to be in anybody’s favor. The Govt. is facing a lot of problems. It seems that in such circumstances, this political party wants to take advantage of the compulsions of the Govt.

It is reported that the President of this party met Ms. Vijayamma, Honorary President of YSR Congress Party a few days ago. He had applauded Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on that occasion. This meeting and the applause of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was a pressure tactics employed against the present Congress Govt. so that it could accelerate the allotment of the Govt. lands sought for.

If such a strategy had been employed for resolving the issues pertaining to the Muslims, perhaps the Muslims would not have been in such a depressed condition in the State.
