A hardcore criminal from neighbouring Jharkhand was gunned down by the police in an encounter and another was arrested near Badagaon in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, police sources said.
On a tip off about the movement of A gang, two teams of tribal women officers confronted the criminals and in the
exchange of fire Dipak Sahu of Jharkhand, who carried a reward on his head, was killed and another Bandan Nayak was caught, Superintendent of Police, Sundargarh, Sanjeeb Arora said.
One carbine, a pistol of foreign make pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition were seized from the spot.
