A criminal facing trial today hurled a footwear targeting Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajendra Kumar Tosh. According to reports, four accused persons involved in a dacoity case were brought from the district jail to stand trial in the sessions court. Chhabi Das (49), one of the accused, suddenly shouted and threw a footwear on to the dias of the court. Though it missed the judge, there was commotion in the court. Chhabi Das along with three others were arrested by the Satyabadi police in November 2010 for allegedly looting a jewellery shop at the gun point and escaped bursting bombs. . Sources said Chabi Das sent a complaint through the district jail welfare officer to Nayagarh police reporting that his family members were being harassed by the villagers. He is a native of Chandua village under the Nayagarh police station limits. A reminder to the SP Nayagarh was also sent. Chhabi alleged despite information to the police, no action was taken so far. He expressed his anguish to draw attention of the authorities. UNI
