State Hajj Committee has accelerated police investigations about financial irregularities committed during 2001. It has registered a complaint against Mr. Muneeruddin Ahmed Muqtar, former member of Hajj Committee and Coordinator in connection with financial irregularities of lakhs of rupees.
Sources indicated that enquiry officers visited Hajj Committee office. They inspected the relevant files and took Xerox copies. They recorded the statements of the then personal Secretary of Hajj Committee, Mr. Kareemuddin and two employees Irfan Shareef and Abdul Kabir. These two employees are witnesses in this case.
Commissioner of Minorities Welfare and Special Officer of Wakf Board, Mr. Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, IPS is in contact with police officers about the progress of the case. He has instructed the police officials to complete investigations and start taking action. On account of criminal investigations about the financial irregularities, there is a fear psychosis among the employees of Hajj Committee. It is reported that investigations are likely in report of other employees of Hajj Committee about whom complaints have been made to Commissioner of Minorities Welfare.
