Allahabad, November 11: Police here today claimed to have arrested a criminal wanted in several cases in eastern Uttar Pradesh including those of murder and loot.
Following a tip-off, Special Operations Group of the local police nabbed Arun Chaubey(40) carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 hailing from Ballia district, from Allahabad Railway Junction this afternoon, police said.
He was accompanied by his nephew, who has also been taken into custody, police said adding that a countrymade pistol and some ammunition were recovered from the possession of Chaubey, who is wanted in at least a dozen criminal cases including those of serious offences like murder and loot.
