Crime has risen under grand alliance rule in Bihar: BJP

Hajipur (Bihar) : Expressing shock over the untoward incident in Gaya where a youth was shot dead for allegedly overtaking the car of Janata Dal (United) MLC Manorama Devi’s son, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said the crime rate has increased significantly in Bihar under the rule of Nitish Kumar-led grand alliance.

Bihar BJP president Sushil Kumar Modi told the media that law and order situation has worsened in Bihar, adding crime is on the rise in the state.

“Yesterday night, the son of Manorma Devi, an MLC of Janata Dal (United), shot dead a boy in rage. The high headed son of the politician got angry after another car over took his car. This cannot be accepted. First he beats the youngster and then shoots him,” said Sushil Modi.

“This issue has shocked Gaya. The people are sitting on protest and the police is busy defending the culprit. Bindi Yadav, the father of the accused, is a known criminal. This is not the first incident, eight to nine similar incidents have taken place in the recent past and the accused are the legislators of the ruling alliance in the state,” he added.

A 20-year-old youth was shot dead allegedly by the son of a woman JD (U) legislator in a road rage incident near Gaya, triggering protests by the BJP.

Aditya Kumar Sachdeva, a class 12 student, was shot dead allegedly by Rocky Kumar Yadav, the son of JD(U) MLC, following a scuffle between the youngster and his friends over overtaking their Range Rover SUV near the police lines on Saturday evening.

The Gaya Police have arrested the JD (U) MLC’s husband Bindi Yadav and the legislator’s bodyguard for allegedly helping the culprit escape. (ANI)
