Hyderabad: Telangana State DGP M. Mahender Reddy on Sunday said crimes in the State dropped by five percent this year.
Addressing the media here today, the DGP said while crimes like murders had dropped by 4 percent, property offences by 8 percent, crimes against women by 7 percent and cyber crimes by 3 percent in 2018. He said they were trying to reduce crime with the help of latest technology. He said the State police were serving everybody without showing any discrimination towards anybody. He said his department had set up Bharosa Centers and SHE teams in the districts. He also said they have rescued 6,012 children through Muskaan drive in the State. Effective steps were afoot to install 5 lakh CC cameras under GHMC limits in the days to come.
