Dejected father ends life over girl’s birth
(Siasat News): A dejected father committed suicide over the birth of a baby girl at Nacharam.

Police sources said that the deceased Venkatesh, 25, got married just a year ago and was expecting a baby boy but his wife delivered a baby girl that put him in mental pressure and he was in a gloomy mood ever since.

Last night he took the extreme step and hanged himself to death. Police is further investigating.

Attempted murder, one held

(Siasat News): Jubilee Hills police has arrested a youth involved in attempt to murder of a junior artist as he tried to kill her by throwing kerosene on her body.

It is said that the accused Sekhar had heated argument with his beloved Priya at Jubilee Hills and later, threw kerosene on her body with the intention of killing her.

However, the people in the locality noticed Sekhar trying to kill Priya and caught hold of him. They handed him over to Jubilee Hills police.

Following the complaint of Priya, a junior artist, police has registered a case against Sekhar.

House burgled at Meerpet

(Siasat News): Burglars strike a home at Gayathri Nagar in Meerpet and made their escape good with gold ornaments and cash. Police sources said that the burglars gained entry into the house as all the family members were fast asleep.

Police further said that the burglars fled the scene with 50 tolas gold ornaments, 10 tolas silver and Rs. 65,000 in cash.

Following the complaint of the house owner Vijay, Meerpet police has registered a case and further investigations are on.

Man held with gold at airport

(Siasat News): The custom officials at RGI arrested a passenger who landed there from an Abu Dhabi flight. The 41-year-old passenger, whose name is withheld, was arrested in connection with gold smuggling.

When his baggage was searched, the custom officials found 2 kgs gold in it concealed in the battery of electronic toys. A case has been registered against him.
