Attempt to sell antique idols foiled

Hyderabad, July 7 (Siasat News): The city police on Tuesday apprehended four persons while they were trying to sell an antique bronze idol of goddess Laxmi which is reportedly a century old, in Moosarambagh in Malakpet.

The accused are M Bhaskar, S Peddi Raju alias Raju, M Kamalanath Reddy alias Kamal and B Jaganmohan Reddy. Their associate Madhu Charry, 32, a resident of Bhadrachalam in Khammam district, is absconding.

The accused and the seized property were handed over to the Malakpet police for further action.

Unknown woman murdered in Jeedimetla

Hyderabad, July 7 (Siasat News): An unidentified woman was brutally murdered in the jurisdiction of Jeedimetla police station. The killers later burnt the dead body. The deceased was in the age group of 25 to 30 years. She was strangulated to death.

According to the police, the woman’s body was put in a sack and shifted to another place where after pouring kerosene on her body, it was torched.

It has become very difficult for the police to get the body identified as it is totally burnt and turned beyond recognition.

Jeedimetla police has registered a case and started the investigations. The investigating team has got a written note near the dead body, police sources said but did not reveal further information.
