Major fraud by BSNL staff
Hyderabad, June 03 (Siasat News): In a major fraud case, employees working with BSNL, Lakdi-ka-pul, allegedly stole 26 compact discs (CDs) on which data related to 1.43 crore worth re-charge coupons was loaded.
According to Saifabad detective inspector K Shankar, though the CDs were found missing from BSNL, office in November last, the BSNL authorities lodged complaint against their employees with police on Wednesday.
BSNL assistant general manager A Ratnamohan Rao, who lodged the complaint, stated that four to five employees working at the BSNL office might have a role in the missing CDs.
ACB’s raids Panchayat Raj House
Hyderabad, June 03 (Siasat News): Anti-corruption Bureau has raided the house of superintending engineer situated at Kundan Baug and seized the assets worth Rs. 2 crores.
The ACB sleuths searched the house of Thakur Kendra Singh that include a house at Methodist Begumpet, Rajendranagar, 5 plots at districts Nalgonda and 3 plots at Ranga Reddy.
It was also disclosed that the Panchayar Raj engineer owned costly flats and shops at Panjagutta, Saroornagar, Ameerpet and Kukatpally.
The sleuths also recovered 1.7 kg gold ornaments, 1 kg silver, Rs. 5 lakh bank balance and other LIC policies.
Further investigations are on.
Injured wife succumbed
Hyderabad, June 03 (Siasat News): A woman, who was seriously injured when she was attacked by her husband, succumbed to her injuries during the treatment in Osmania general hospital.
It is to be recalled here that she sustained serious injuries when her husband Jahangir had attacked his in-laws at premnagar where four persons were murdered.
Jahangir had committed this heinous crime in a vendetta as he was inflicted in a dowry case by his in-laws sometimes back.
With the death of Jahangir’s wife Neha Afreen, the total number of deaths reached to five. Jahangir is already arrested.
Suicide for just Rs. 20
Hyderabad, June 03 (Siasat News): a 22-year-old youth committed suicide at Borabanda when his mother refused to give him Rs. 20.
According to the details, B Anand, resident of Ananthiya Basthi, has demanded Rs. 20 from his mother Saiamma but she refused to oblige.
This made Anand disappointed and he poured kerosene on self and set ablaze.
The neighbors and other local people gathered there and extinguished the fire. Anand was shifted to Gandhi hospital where he died during the treatment.
