Bank cheaters jailed
(Siasat News); The CBI court on Tuesday ordered the eight persons accused of defrauding Andhra Bank of Rs. 1.1 crore to three year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 20,000 each.
M Pratap Reddy, M Latha Reddy, Ashok Reddy, T Pratap Reddy and Y Ram Reddy had taken a loan of Rs. 1.1 crore from Andhra Bank’s Baghamberpet branch in the guise of running a poultry business.
They took loans using dales documents in the name of fictitious firms, with the help of bank manager Sri Ramgopal.
A chargesheet was filed against all the accused and chartered accountant P Venkateshwar Rao who had certified the balance sheets, his assistant G Ravinder Reddy and three other bank employees.
The CBI court in its order acquitted the three other employees saying they were only used by the bank manager.
DCM goes turtle, 4 dead
(Siasat News): In a tragic accident at city’s posh area Banjara Hulls, a DCM loaded with vegetables went turtle killing four persons and 20 injured.
According to the details, the driver of the DCM was passing from GVK Mall speedily. All of a sudden, the DCM turned turtle killing four persons on the spot. The injured persons are admitted to various hospitals of the city.
The deceased were all farmers and were shifting vegetables from the neighbouring state. Police has called the ambulance to shift the injured persons.
This accident sent shock waves in the locality that had occurred in the wee hours of the morning. Further investigations are on.
