Two passengers held with gold

(Siasat News): The custom officials at RGI airport arrested two passengers and seized 5 kg gold from their possession.

The passengers had arrived from a Dubai flight. During the custom check, the officials found 5 kg gold in their luggage for which they could not give any satisfactory reply.

Both passengers belonged to Hyderabad. The contraband is seized and the passengers are arrested.

Notorious thief arrested

(Siasat News): East Zone police is successful in arresting a notorious thief who had become a permanent headache for the police department and recovered the stolen gold ornaments from his possession.

In the meantime, Dy. Commissioner of police, East zone Mr. Dr. V Ranvindran said the accused T Srinivas, 30, native of Medak was actually a car driver.

However, he had formed a bad habit of stealing costly items and had committed crimes in the various houses situated at Nallakunta, Saeedabad and Malakpet.

He used to specify the locked houses and had committed the crimes. He further said that the accused had committed more than 50 crimes since 2006.

Nallakunta Crime Staff has recovered 437 grams of gold ornaments and 500 grams silver.

Woman dies in train accident

(Siasat News): An aged woman died when she was hit by a speeding train. According to Kachiguda railway police, the deceased Laxmibai, 79, was a labourer and was the native of Ananatapur district.

She had come to Hyderabad along with her relatives some days back.

Yesterday, when she was trying to cross the railway tracks at Malakpet railway station as she wanted to go to platform No.2 from platform No.1 but could not see the incoming MMTS train. She died on the spot.

Further investigations are underway.

Financial crunch led to suicide

(Siasat News): A 50-year-old man Hamed Bin Salem committed suicide at Asifnagar. The deceased was residing near Asifnagar post office.

Yesterday, in a bizarre incident, he came out of a shop and set himself ablaze. The people in the locality and other shop owners immediately came into action and shifted him to the hospital where he died during the treatment last night.

Police suspect that financial crunch might be the reason behind his suicide. Further investigations are underway.
