Maid and her lover held

Hyderabad, June 28 (Siasat News): The Golconda police arrested a maidservant and her boy friend for stealing 42 tolas of gold jewellery worth Rs. 7.5 lakh.

The accused Afreen Anjum, 29, and her boy friend Sheikh Ali Ahmed Ali, 27, had hidden the jewellery in a garbage bin to be disposed of later.

According to the police, Afreen worked at the house of a retired BHEL employee, Mr. Omer Farooq at Balreddynagar in Golconda.

On Saturday, Afreen stole the jewellery from the almirah and gave them to Ali who is reportedly involved in a murder case.

Mother and son attempt suicide

Hyderabad, June 28 (Siasat News): In an apparent suicide pact, a woman and her 22-year-old son consumed pesticide at their residence at Narsingi.

The 45-year-old widow died while her son is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. According to the police, neighbours who noticed Raja Mani and her son Praveen prasad unconscious in their house shifted them to a hospital.

Raja Mani was declared brought dead.

Female junior artists rescued

Hyderabad, June 28 (Siasat News): The city police rescued three female junior artists from the clutches of a pimp here on
Sunday. Pavan Kumar Reddy, 27, a native of Kadapa, was arrested at Tank Bund here.

He used to solicit prospective customers over phone and send the junior artists to them.

Police used a decoy to contact Pavan and rescued the three junior artists and send them to a rescue home and arrested Pavan.

Housewife burnt to death

Hyderabad, June 28 (Siasat News): A 27-year-old housewife who was allegedly set afire by her husband, died while undergoing treatment at the Osmania General Hospital.

Sajida Begum used to be physically harassed by her drunk husband M Shareef. On June 22, after an argument, Shareef doused her with kerosene and set her ablaze.

Neighbours heard her screams and took her to hospital, where she succumbed to her burn injuries on Sunday. Shareef has been arrested.

Chronic thief arrested at Begum Bazaar

Hyderabad, June 28 (Siasat News): Police has arrested a notorious thief M Ramesh, 25, who was an expert of breaking locks and shutters of any type.

Police also seized stolen goods worth Rs. 15 lakh and cash including American dollars. According to the police, Ramesh had been jailed in the past and seven cases are still pending against him for various crimes committed in the jurisdiction of Panjagutta, Musheerabad, Gandhi Nagar and Malkajgiri police stations.

Recently he had stolen American dollars from the house of a priest. He is handed over to judicial custody.
