Mehdipatnam suitcase case: Mystery still unsolved
Hyderabad, August 2 (Siasat News): The entire city of Hyderabad was sensationalized one year back when an unclaimed suitcase was found near Mehdipatnam bus stand carrying the decomposed dead body of a woman.
Police is yet to resolve the case. The tall claims of police proved futile, as no further development has taken place. Though six teams were constituted for the identification of the deceased.
Now this number is reduced to three. On the other hand, a special team was also constituted to check the reports of missing women on the basis of complaints lodged in districts.
The irony of it is that police neither got success in identifying the deceased woman nor it got any clue to nab the culprits. When assistant commissioner of police Asifnagar Mr. L T Chandrasekhar was contacted, he said that once the identification of the deceased is done, it would be easier to trace the culprits.
He added that we are very much in touch with the district police where the record of the missing women is being checked and this is still going on. So, it is not fair to say that police is not successful in solving the mystery.
He disclosed that three different families approached the police claiming that the deceased woman was their family member but failing in DNA test, they withdrew their claim and went back.
ACP further said that in order to solve the mystery, the police teams have been sent to Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi but success is still far away.
After one year this case has become a matter of shame for the police department and put a big question mark against their performance.
