Couple involved in temples theft, arrested
Hyderabad, December 28 (Siasat News): Chandanagar police has arrested a couple who were involved in thefts in temples in Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits and recovered stolen gold ornaments from their possession worth Rs. 11 lakh.
As per the details, Thakur Raju Singh and his wife Thakur Sangeetha, residents of Mangalhaat, had borrowed money from various people.
As they were not in a position to pay back, they started making temples as their targets and used to commit thefts by assessing the daily routine of the priests.
Police said that Thakur Raju used to keep the priests busy in conversation and in the meantime, his wife entered the temples on the pretext of offering puja, used to steal the gold ornaments put around the idols and other silver materials. Further investigations are on.
Dowry amount dispute caused brother’s death
Hyderabad, December 28 (Siasat News): The dispute over the dowry amount developed between two brothers, led to the death of one.
This incident occurred in Nacharam police station limits where one Janappa, 30, poured kerosene on his body and set himself ablaze and died in the hospital during the treatment.
According to the details, Janappa, resident of Mallapur, Nacharam, got married two years back. He was given Rs. 2 lakh as dowry at the time of the marriage.
He had handed over the same amount to his brother. After sometime, when Janappa enquired about the money, his brother said that the money was spent for the reception of Janappa’s marriage.
This explanation did not satisfy Janappa and resulted in creation of a dispute. To settle it, panchayat was also called for two/three times.
Janappa’s brother did not change his stand. Depressed over this, Janappa took the extreme step. Police has registered the case and further investigations are on.
