Conmen gang arrested
(Siasat News): Kanchan Bagh police has unearthed a 3-memeber gang involved in deceiving people by promising them to provide gold on cheaper rate and duped them to the tune of lakhs of rupees.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Santosh Nagar division, Mr. Srinivas said the kingpin of the gang is one N Durga Rao who used to dupe people with the help of his accomplices by deceiving them on the promise of providing gold on cheaper rate.
He said that Durga Rao had contacted one R Saidi Reddy of Chaitanyapuri colony and promised him that he would provide gold Rs. 7000/- per tola.
This is how he collected a sum of Rs. 4,20,000/- as advance but failed to provide the gold he had promised.
Mr. Srinivas further said that the conmen used to provide fake gold and this is how he had deceived many people. A sum of Rs. 3 lakh was seized from the arrested persons.
Passenger arrested with gold at airport
(Siasat News): The custom officials at RGI airport had arrested a passenger who was in possession of 500 grams gold. The said passenger had arrived from a Singapore flight.
During the custom checking, the officials found the gold. When the passenger was questioned, he could not give any satisfactory reply to the officials.
The gold was in the form of biscuits which were hidden in a TV stand the passenger had brought from Singapore.
Further investigations are on.
