Another dowry death
(Siasat News): Another case of dowry death come to the fore where a woman in Rein Bazar took the extreme step of ending her life as she could not tolerate the continuous demand for more dowry from her in-laws.

Police sources said that the deceased Pawani aka Mamta, 28, was the wife of one Venkatesh of Brahmanwadi in Yakutpura. On September 19, she had set herself ablaze and had sustained severe burn injuries.

Last night she succumbed to her burn injuries during the treatment. Police further said that she was being harassed for more dowry. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.

Man drowns in pond

(Siasat News): A man drowned in a pond in suspicious circumstances in Dundigal. It is said that the deceased Sudhakar Reddy, 34, had gone to the pond along with his buffaloes and was busy in swimming where something went wrong and he drowned.

Police has registered a case and further investigations are underway.

Minor student kidnapped

(Siasat News): A 10-year-old boy Karunakar was kidnapped from Indiranagar in Chandrayangutta by some unknown kidnappers who were riding motor bikes.

Inspector Chandrayangutta Rama Rao said that Karunakar was studying in class IV and was going to school along with his brother and sister.

However, in the evening, the mother of Karunakar received a phone call from a stranger saying that her son was in his captivity. The worried parents then contacted the school authorities where they came to know that Karunakar did not reach the school at all.

Police has registered a case of kidnap and further investigations are in progress.

Man attacked for just Rs. 500!

(Siasat News): A man was attacked for just Rs. 500 in Mangalhat. Inspector Mangalhat Srinivas said that Mahmood, resident of Kamathipura, had come to Jhinger Basthi to buy illicit liquor.

To pay the money for the liquor, he took out a 500-rupee note from his pocket. Seeing this, a stranger standing beside him, attacked Mehmood and ran away with the note.

In the meantime, Mehmood himself reached to the hospital and got first-aid. Mangalhat police has registered a case and further investigations are on.
