Four held for bid to murder

Hyderabad, March 24 (Siasat News): Uppal police arrested four persons for allegedly making a vain attempt to eliminate rowdy-sheeter belonging to Amberpet.

Police said that Abdul Jaffer, Sheru Khan, Mohd. Imran and Mohd. Abdul Nizamuddin and Mahboob, who are also said to be rowdy-sheeters, engaged Khadeer of Gulbarga.

“Nizamuddin and Mahboob hatched a plan to kill their rival Ghori Mohammed of Amberpet. The hired assailants made a vain attempt to kill Ghori in Kachiguda recently.” Uppal inspector S Raju said.

The assailants were promised Rs. 10,000 each for accomplishing the task of the conspirators. Nizamuddin and Mahboob are absconding.

Man arrested for cheating Haj pilgrims

Hyderabad, March 24 (Siasat News): A person was arrested by Banjara Hills police on Wednesday for allegedly cheating Haj pilgrims to the tune of Rs. 20 lakh.

Banjara Hills inspector V Sudarshan said that Mohd. Arshad who runs Reliable Tours and Travels, collected money from pilgrims hailing from Warangal, Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts promising for the performance of Haj.

But the accused failed to keep his promise and the victims began demanding repayment of their money.

One of the victims, Dastagir, lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills police station, who in turn arrested Arshad. Further investigations are on.
