New bride commits suicide (Siasat News): A new bride who got married just three months back, committed suicide in Maheshwaram police station limits. Police said that the deceased Afsha Jabeen, 20, got married to one Mujahid in January this year. At the time of the marriage, her parents had given Rs. 2 lakh in cash, 10 tolas gold and other household items. However, it seems that the items were not enough for Mujahid’s family as Mujahid kept on harassing her for more dowry. When the harassment became intolerable for Afsha Jabeen, she hanged herself to death. Maheashwaram police has registered a case against Mujahid following a complaint of the parents of the deceased. Further investigations are on. Loneliness led to suicide (Siasat News): A lonely woman consumed pesticide and ended her life. This incident occurred in Shahabad police station limits in R R district. It is said that the deceased Laxmi, 35, had consumed pesticide on the night of April 18. She was immediately shifted to the hospital where she died during the treatment. The preliminary investigations revealed that the parents of Laxmi had expired two years ago. Laxmi was left all alone, as she had no other relatives. Moreover, due to the death of her parents, her marriage was also installed. This has put her under mental pressure and led her to take the extreme step. Police has shifted the dead body to the mortuary and further investigations are in progress. Illicit relations led to murder and suicide (Siasat News): A man attacked his sister-in-law (wife’s sister) with a knife on her denial over the continuation of the illicit relations with her brother-in-law. This incident occurred in Bahadurpura police station limits where inspector Tirupatna said that Arif, 35, attacked his sister-in-law Samina with a knife and later committed suicide. He said that Arif was a labour and was in illicit relations with Samina after the death of his wife. Some time back, he had taken Samina forcibly with him to Mahboobnagar and over this, police had registered a missing case. Yesterday, Arif reached the house of Samina situated at Kishanbaug and asked her to accompany him but Samina refused to do so. Arif, in a rage of anger, attacked her with a knife and later poured kerosene on his body and set himself ablaze. He was admitted to Osmania hospital with severe burn injuries where doctors declared him dead. This incident had sent shock waves in the locality. wajid_siasat@yahoo.in
