Burglars rob dental hospital

Hyderabad, July 19 (Siasat News): A dental hospital at Srinagar colony was broken into late on Sunday and property worth Rs. 1 lakh was stolen. The Banjara Hills police said that the theft took place at Mahanagar Dental Hospital.

The staff locked the hospital at 9 pm on Saturday and when they returned on Sunday, they found the main gate lock broken. The staff alerted hospital head Dr. Sri Latha who later approached the Banjara Hills police and lodged a complaint.

According to her statement, the offenders stole Rs. 18000 and four silver coins kept in a drawer at the reception desk. They also stole a computer and portable TV kept in the main hall.

The total property stolen was worth Rs. 1 lakh. Since there was no watchman in the vicinity, the burglars made their escape good.

Six held for gambling

Hyderabad, July 19 (Siasat News): Based on a tip off, the task force police on Sunday raided a hotel in Himayathnagar and arrested six persons on the charges of gambling.

The police seized Rs. 22,500 and a set of playing cards from their possession. The accused include four goldsmiths, Venugopal Verma, Tebranjam, Mansa Das, Bapi Sit and a student K Pradeep Reddy and M Suhas, a resident of Chikkadpally.

They have been handed over to Narayanguda police.
