7 convicted for cheating

(Siasat News); The special court for CBI cases has convicted seven persons for cheating the SBI’s Vidyanagar branch of Rs. 34.5 lakh by submitting fake documents.

Three of the accused were the employees of the bank. P Ravindra Prasad, Y Sukumar and K Haragopal conspired with four others and submitted fake documents for a loan of Rs. 34.5 lakh in 1996. All the accused were given a two-year jail term.

Gold worth Rs. 10 lakh robbed

(Siasat News): Burglars broke open a house at KPHB colony and took away gold worth Rs. 10 lakh where the residents were away.

The house belonged to 58-year-old Suryanarayana Raju who works at a private company in Chandanagar.

As the inmates were not at home, the burglars took advantage and ransacked the house. The police have launched a probe.

Woman commits suicide

(Siasat News): A woman harassed by her husband and other in-laws, committed suicide. This incident occurred in Uppal police station limits where 24-year-old Chintala Jyothi poured kerosene on her body and set herself ablaze on August 4.

She was admitted to the hospital but died last night during the treatment. The deceased was the wife of one Narsiah of Uppal and both of them got married in 2008. Police has registered a case.
