Jeweller held in sex racket

(Siasat News): Police raided Sitara Hotel at L B Nagar and rescued a woman from prostitution and arrested a customer and two organizers.

The 23-year-old woman is a dancer from the city and was forced into prostitution for the past six months. The customer Venkata Murali Krishna, 45, owner of M K Jewellers from Vijayawada, and organizers Ramya and Jogeshwar Rao from Begumpet were arrested.

M Arulappa, sub-inspector of L B Nagar police station, said that they got an alert late on Thursday about prostitution in the hotel.

They raided the premises around 3 am on Friday. Venkata Murali Krishna was caught red-handed and sent to judicial remand.

Woman held for kidnap

(Siasat News): The Chikadpally police arrested a beautician for kidnapping 2-year-old Vaishnavi from Baghlingampally on January 11.

She reportedly Vaishnavi as she lost her girl child. Racharia Lavanya alias Pooja, 36, a resident of Sainagar, Kushaiguda lost her husband and child three years ago.

V B Kamalassan Reddy, DCP, Central Zone, said that Lavanya failed to adopt a child from various places. On the day of kidnap, she found Vaishnavi playing alone at the market and abducted her.

Four teams were formed to nab the accused.
