Conman vanished after duping 15 persons
(Siasat News): a con artist. Posing as a custom official cheated at least 15 persons promising them gold at cheaper prices at Shamshabad.
The victims lodged a complaint on Thursday. RGIA police said that V Bhargav Bhaskar, native of Vishakhapatnam, came to the city six months ago and started cheating gullible persons, offering them four tolas of gold for Rs. One lakh.
Trusting Bhaskar’s claim that he was a custom officer, the victims gave Rs. 1.4 crore. By the time the victims realized that they were cheated, as the con artist vanished.
A special team was formed and case was registered and a manhunt launched to trace the culprit.
