Man dies in a bid to kill son
Hyderabad, May 04 (Siasat News): A man who tried to kill his son by setting him on fire, died of burns after his son held on to him.
This bizarre incident took place at Jagadagirigutta in Jeedimetla. T Manikyam, 57, a labourer and an alcoholic, had stopped working and depended on his, Ramesh, 20, an auto rickshaw driver, for money.
Irked over his son’s opposition to sell their house, Manikyam doused Ramesh with kerosene and torched him. Ramesh held onto Manikyam and both of them suffered burns.
According to Jeedimetla police, Manikyam died on the spot whereas Ramesh sustained 90% burns and his chances of survival are very dim.
Online fraud arrested
Hyderabad, May 04 (Siasat News): The Cyber Crime police arrested an online fraud for cheating people to the tune of several lakhs of rupees.
The police recovered six mobile phones, three laptops and six computers from his possession. The accused P Bala Vamsi Krishna, 25, works at a BPO as a customer service representative in Visakhapatnam.
He was arrested following a complaint by Mr. R Sreekanth, general manager of RedBus.in, an online bus ticketing agency. Vamsi used to book tickets others’ credit cards and after booking, he used to cancel the same and remit the amount to his account.
He had collected the credit card data from a super market and a mobile outlet from Kothapet.
