Cricketer-turned-actor Salil Ankola’s former wife Parineeta has committed suicide, police said today.
The 46-year-old was found hanging at her parents’ residence at Geeta Society in Salisbury Park area last evening.
Assistant Police Inspector S A Kenjale of Swargate Police Station said Parineeta has left behind a purported suicide note in which says she was fed up with life.
Parineeta, who got divorced from Ankola around two years ago, has also mentioned in the note that nobody should be held responsible for her suicide, he said.
Police have registered a case of accidental death.
Kenjale said “her father has identified her hand-writing and we have not registered FIR against anybody.”
Ankola (45), a right-arm fast bowler, played for India during 1990s. After retirement, he took to acting. He appeared in several television serials and a few Hindi movies.
